The Obama Effect

The Obama effect is a condition that has reshaped the relations of races in America in every walk of life.

When Barack Obama was elected president of the United States it was a historic moment in American history, for the first time in the formation of the country it appeared as if a glass ceiling had been shattered that some thought would never happen and others thought was well over due. Barack Obama was the bi product of a father who was from an African nation and a mother who was of White European descent, it appeared to Afro-Americans as if the dream doctor king died for had been achieved. The sense of nationalism that Afro-Americans felt towards a country that had never been theirs was inspiring to other races while disgusting to the predominate one. Rapper young jeezy penned a son, My president is black, it seemed as every where you looked an afro American athlete or entertainer were bragging and promoting the perceived ethnicity of the “leader of their free world”. The fact of the matter is this was a bend in the “rule”, an aberration, a glitch in the moral fabric of the country that would have dire consequences for many of the same people who celebrated the accomplishment.

The consequences of Obama being president;

one of the most drastic consequences is that Afro-American men and women became complacent……….

Afro-American men and women became overly critical of each other…….

Afro American men and women lost sight on the goals and aspirations

Afro-American men and women became unduly arrogant

Afro-American men and women lost the resilience needed to truly shatter glass ceilings…..

Afro-American men and women no longer had a end game.

Afro American men and women forgot the rules of the game.

Afro-American me and women decide to become silent about subjects that really mattered.

Afro-American men and women stopped being motivated by fear.

Afro-American men and women woke up a sleeping giant. Obama
